Today marks my one year anniversary with Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union. To share in the celebrations, I thought I'd share some highlights from my "Happy Anniversary" card that made me chuckle, as written by my peers (names have been changed to protect the innocent):1. "It's been a great 1st year. Cheers to more NERF wars!" - Alice2. "1 year, but in dog years it's 7!" - Sally3. "Wow - one year! As the "little brother" type, you have made it feel like a lot more!" - Significantly OLDER Brother TypeI remember how fearful I was a year ago - moving to a new city, joining a new organization, not really knowing anyone. Today I'm so grateful that I chose to listen to hope rather than fear, and I'm honored to be celebrating a full year with an organization that embraces the playfulness, the jokes, and the sass!

Hearing about inflation, GDP, unemployment rates, and fed interest rates before 9am might not initially sound like a fun morning to you, but you’re mistaken! Rocky and Bullwinkle make everything more entertaining… if you know, you know. Last night’s Star Gala, benefiting the Lone Star College Foundation, was one for the books. One of the top initiatives of Chancellor Castillo’s is to end the food insecurity issues that are plaguing students. When given the choice between working to feed a family or attending class, it makes sense that the decision would be to work, right? Eliminating the food insecurity issues for students and their families eliminates just one more barrier to graduating. Just $10 provides 1 hot meal for a student. The Business Development Boys™️ were out in full force at the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Annual Luncheon & Business Expo. It was a fun-filled weekend with the #ShowYourPride Open Photo Shoot sponsored by the Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce and the Human Rights Campaign dinner in Houston. In reflecting back on the past 9 months I’ve been here in Houston, I am beyond grateful that I live in a place where I have access to a community. Nothing but gratitude this Monday morning!
