Air Fryer Churro Apple Pie Bombs are a sweet treat that can be made in about 20 minutes with only 5 ingredients. Serve this quick and easy treat for a quick weekend breakfast or top with vanilla ice cream for a decadent dessert.
Pie is probably the most requested dessert at our house but it’s the one I make the least often. I just hate fooling with pie crust when cookies and cakes are faster and easier. Well that is until I made these apple pie bombs! It is seriously simple and the crust is made with canned biscuit dough.

Ingredients for Churro Apple Pie Bombs:
- Canned Biscuits
- Apple Pie Filling
- Butter
- Sugar
- Cinnamon
How to Make Air Fryer Churro Apple Pie Bombs:
- Open pie filling and pour into a bowl. Using a fork and a knife, cut the apple slices into small pieces. One can of pie filling will fill 2 cans of canned biscuits. I used half and saved the rest to make these again soon. Just store leftover pie filling in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Do not store in the can it came in.
- Preheat air fryer for 5 minutes.
- Separate biscuits and pull each into two layers.
- Use a rolling pin to make biscuits into about a 3- 4 inch circle.
- Spoon pie filling onto each biscuit, don’t over fill.
- Fold edges of the biscuit together and pinch to seal. Try not to get the pie filling on the edges of the biscuits, because it doesn’t want to stick together if you do.
- Roll biscuits into balls.
- Place filled biscuits into the air fryer basket about 2 inches apart. My basket held 8 at a time. You don’t want the biscuits to touch so they cook evenly.
- Cook for 8 minutes or until golden brown. You can check to make sure the dough is cooked through by carefully pulling apart one from the bottom.
- Melt butter and in a separate bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon.
- One at a time, roll apple pie bomb in butter, letting the excess drip off.
- Next, roll in cinnamon sugar, coating all sides.
- Place on a wire rack and repeat steps with remaining ingredients.
- Serve immediately or at room temperature.
Best if consumed within a few hours.
Conventional Oven Instructions:
If you have a convection oven use the same directions as the air fryer, preheating oven before baking.
For a conventional oven: preheat to 375° and increase baking time to 15- 17 minutes, or until cooked through.
How to Store and Reheat:
If you have leftovers, which is really unlikely, store in refrigerator covered up to 2 days.
Reheat at 300° in the air fryer for about 2 minutes.
